Contemporary

Monday

Dress Code:

Clothing: Dancewear. No jeans, dresses, or skirts.

Shoes: Socks required. (Please bring a clean pair with you and put them on when you arrive.)

Class Description

This class will increase memory skills, quality of movement, and overall contemporary technique. One or more years of jazz or lyrical experience is recommended.

Dress Code:

Clothing: Baggy sweats, hip-hop pants, shirts, etc. Street clothes are okay. No jeans.

Shoes: Clean tennis shoes and socks. 

Hair: Please pull long hair back.

Class Description

Hip-Hop classes begin with a short warm-up to age-appropriate hip-hop music. Dancers will learn combinations and a recital dance. Hip-Hop helps to develop memory skills, coordination, and diversity of movement. Dancers will also be encouraged to develop their own unique style.

Class Description

Jazz/Lyrical is a class that teaches both jazz and lyrical styles. This class begins with a technique based warm-up, followed by a jazz routine, steps across the floor, a lyrical routine, and then improvisation. Dancers will work on steps like chaine turns, pique turns, pirouettes, and jumps.

Tumblers cannot be spotted safely if they aren't in dress code.

Class Description

Dancers will learn basic acro skills. Each student will be able to learn and move at their own speed and comfort level. This class will build strength and flexibility.

Tuition

  • Due to the very small class sizes required by social distancing guidelines, we have changed our tuition structure to be per class rather than per hour.

  • Dancers should arrive five minutes early for class. Dismissal will also take up to five minutes after the class is over.

  • There is an annual $20 registration fee per dancer.

  • There is a third party 2.75% processing fee added to each transaction.

  • Tuition is charged monthly. We are a 100% autopay studio.

  • Tuition is per student per month.

  • Tuition is the same whether there are three classes in a month or five.

  • August tuition will be charged at 50%.

  • Classes start on August 17th.

  • If the studio is forced to close due to Oregon shutting down again, we will teach all classes via zoom until we are able to reopen.

June Performance Costs

  • Dancers will work all on a dance year to perform in our June recital.

  • Most teen classes will have a recital costume cost of $45 due in October and $40 due in November.
